INSIGNA self-adhesive sail repair circles – pack of 2
INSIGNA self-adhesive circles for sail repair
The INSIGNA self-adhesive circles allow you to quickly repair a small tear, reinforce a weakened area or protect a sail against chafe and friction.
Cut directly from our 130 g/m² INSIGNA self-adhesive polyester fabric, they are ready to apply and available in three diameters: 11 cm, 16 cm and 20 cm.
Each pack contains 2 circles of the same diameter and colour. This format makes it possible to apply one patch to each side of the sail for a stronger repair.
Why use a round patch?
The round shape is particularly well suited to sail repairs. Unlike a square patch, it has no corners that can lift or peel away due to friction, wind or sail handling.
The circles are already cut and ready to use, allowing you to carry out a quick repair directly on board without having to cut the fabric yourself.
3 diameters available
- Ø 11 cm: small tears, small holes and local reinforcement;
- Ø 16 cm: versatile repair size for medium-sized tears;
- Ø 20 cm: repairs or reinforcement requiring a larger coverage area.
For a tear, choose a diameter that allows the patch to extend well beyond the damaged area.
Uses of INSIGNA circles
The self-adhesive patches can be used to:
- repair a small tear in a sail;

- carry out a quick temporary repair on board;

How to apply an INSIGNA self-adhesive circle
For good adhesion:
1️⃣ Carefully clean and dry the area to be repaired.
2️⃣ Position the circle so that the damaged area is located in the centre of the patch.
3️⃣ Remove the adhesive backing.
4️⃣ Apply the circle and press it firmly onto the sail.
5️⃣ Smooth from the centre outwards to remove air bubbles and ensure even adhesion.
For a more durable tear repair, we recommend, whenever possible, applying one circle to each side of the sail. This is why our INSIGNA circles are supplied in packs of 2.
Which INSIGNA format should you choose?
The INSIGNA self-adhesive circles are particularly practical for small repairs and local reinforcement. Their rounded shape with no corners helps reduce the risk of peeling, and they are immediately ready to apply.
For narrow areas or chafe protection, we also offer our 5 × 139 cm INSIGNA self-adhesive repair tape .
For repairs requiring a larger surface area, we also offer our 22.5 × 22.5 cm INSIGNA self-adhesive patches .
For larger repairs or custom cutting, you can use our INSIGNA self-adhesive fabric in 142 cm width .
FAQ – INSIGNA self-adhesive sail repair circles
How many circles are included?
Each pack contains 2 self-adhesive circles of the same diameter and colour.
Why are the circles sold in packs of 2?
For a more durable repair, it is recommended, whenever possible, to apply one patch to each side of the sail. The pack of 2 therefore allows you to carry out this repair directly.
Which diameter should I choose?
The circle should be large enough to extend well beyond the tear or the area to be reinforced. Ø 11 cm is suitable for small repairs, Ø 16 cm is a versatile size and Ø 20 cm is suitable for larger areas.
Why use a round patch instead of a square one?
A round shape has no corners. The edges are therefore less likely to lift due to friction or sail handling.
Can these patches be used to repair a Dacron sail?
Yes. INSIGNA self-adhesive polyester fabric is particularly suitable for small repairs and reinforcement on Dacron sails and other compatible polyester fabrics.
Does the patch need to be sewn after application?
No. INSIGNA fabric is self-adhesive and can be used on its own for small repairs and reinforcement. For structural repairs or highly stressed areas, a professional repair or additional stitching may nevertheless be required.
Can they be kept on board for emergency repairs?
Yes. Their compact size and ready-to-use shape make them particularly practical to keep in the toolbox or in a sail repair kit on board.
What is the difference between circles, repair tape, square patches and INSIGNA fabric?
The circles are ready to apply and suitable for local repairs. The 5 cm repair tape is ideal for narrow areas and chafe protection. The 22.5 × 22.5 cm patches provide more surface area for medium-sized repairs. The 142 cm wide INSIGNA fabric is suitable for larger repairs and fully custom cuts.
