The INSIGNA self-adhesive fabric can be used for repairs, reinforcement, protection against chafing and sail numbering.
Sold by the linear metre with a width of 142 cm, it is particularly suitable when a repair requires a larger surface area or a custom cut.

Delivery of INSIGNA Self-Adhesive Fabric
Please read before choosing your delivery method:
📦 Delivery to a pickup point (free from €50 order value):
– To comply with pickup point parcel size restrictions, the fabric is prepared in pieces measuring 1 linear metre × 1.42 m.
– Each piece is rolled along its shorter length to obtain a parcel approximately 1 metre long.
– For orders of several metres, the fabric will therefore be cut into 1 linear metre lengths.
👉 Example: for an order of 3 metres, you will receive 3 pieces measuring 1 m × 1.42 m.
– This packaging method requires the fabric to be rolled in a different direction from its usual packaging, which may cause some marks or creases to appear.
⚠️ Please note: automatic parcel lockers are not compatible with this parcel format. Please choose a staffed pickup point.
🚚 Other delivery methods:
– The fabric is delivered rolled and in one continuous piece.
– The parcel is shipped in a 1.42 m long tube, following the fabric’s usual rolling direction.
How to Repair a Sail with INSIGNA Self-Adhesive Fabric
INSIGNA self-adhesive fabric allows you to quickly carry out a repair or reinforcement on a Dacron sail or on certain polyester fabrics.
It is particularly suitable for tears, weakened areas, protection against chafing or local reinforcement.
Steps to repair a sail:
1️⃣ Carefully clean and dry the area to be repaired to ensure good adhesion.
2️⃣ Cut a piece of INSIGNA fabric slightly larger than the damaged area.
3️⃣ If possible, round off the corners to reduce the risk of peeling.
4️⃣ Remove the backing, then apply the fabric and press it firmly onto the sail.
5️⃣ Smooth the surface to remove air bubbles and ensure even adhesion.
For a more durable repair of a tear, we recommend, whenever possible, applying a piece to both sides of the sail to distribute the loads more evenly.
INSIGNA Fabric, Patch or Tape?
INSIGNA fabric in 142 cm width is particularly suitable for larger repairs and custom cutting.
For medium-sized local repairs, we also offer our 22.5 × 22.5 cm INSIGNA self-adhesive patches . They allow you to carry out a quick repair without having to cut a large piece of fabric.
For small tears, narrow areas or protection against chafing, our 5 cm wide INSIGNA self-adhesive tape is generally more practical.

Why is the fabric cut into 1 metre lengths for delivery to a pickup point?
Pickup points impose a maximum parcel length. The fabric is therefore cut into 1 linear metre pieces and rolled along its shorter length to comply with this format. This change in rolling direction may occasionally cause some marks or creases to appear. With other delivery methods, the fabric is shipped rolled in its usual direction and in one continuous piece.
What is the difference between INSIGNA fabric, patches and tape?
The 5 cm wide tape is suitable for small repairs, narrow areas and protection against chafing. The 22.5 × 22.5 cm patches are suitable for medium-sized local repairs. INSIGNA fabric in 142 cm width is intended for larger repairs and custom cutting.
