Bainbridge INSIGNA self-adhesive sailcloth is ideal for repairs, reinforcements, chafe protection and sail numbering.
With a fabric weight of 130 g/m² excluding backing paper, it provides a more substantial material, particularly suitable for durable repairs, localised reinforcements and areas exposed to friction.
Sold by the linear metre with a width of 142 cm, it is particularly suitable for repairs requiring a large surface area or custom-cut patches.

Information about the Neon Pink colour:
Unlike the other colours supplied by Bainbridge International, Neon Pink INSIGNA sailcloth is manufactured by Challenge Sailcloth. Its width is 144 cm, compared with 142 cm for the other colours. This colour is available in limited quantities.
Delivery of INSIGNA Self-Adhesive Sailcloth
Please read before choosing your delivery method:
📦 Delivery to a parcel collection point (free on orders over €50):
– To comply with parcel collection point size restrictions, the fabric is prepared in pieces measuring 1 linear metre × 1.42 m.
– Each piece is rolled along its shorter dimension to obtain a parcel approximately 1 metre long.
– For orders of several metres, the fabric will therefore be cut into individual 1-metre lengths.
👉 Example: if you order 3 metres, you will receive 3 separate pieces measuring 1 m × 1.42 m each.
– This packaging method requires the fabric to be rolled in a different direction from its usual packaging, which may result in some marks or creases.
⚠️ Important: Automatic parcel lockers are not suitable for this parcel size. Please select a staffed parcel collection point.
🚚 Other delivery methods:
– The fabric is delivered rolled and in one continuous piece.
– Several metres can therefore be ordered as one continuous length.
– The parcel is shipped in a 1.42 m long tube, following the fabric's usual rolling direction.
How to Repair a Sail with INSIGNA Self-Adhesive Sailcloth
INSIGNA self-adhesive sailcloth allows you to quickly repair or reinforce a Dacron sail or certain polyester fabrics.
It is particularly suitable for tears, weakened areas, chafe protection and localised reinforcements.
Steps to repair a sail:
1️⃣ Thoroughly clean and dry the area to be repaired to ensure good adhesion.
2️⃣ Cut a piece of INSIGNA sailcloth slightly larger than the damaged area.
3️⃣ Round the corners whenever possible to reduce the risk of peeling.
4️⃣ Remove the backing paper, position the fabric and press it firmly onto the sail.
5️⃣ Smooth the surface to remove air bubbles and ensure even adhesion.
For a more durable repair of a tear, we recommend, whenever possible, applying a patch to both sides of the sail to distribute the loads more evenly.

Why is the fabric cut into 1-metre pieces for delivery to a parcel collection point?
Parcel collection points impose maximum parcel length restrictions. The fabric is therefore cut into 1-metre lengths and rolled along its shorter dimension to comply with these restrictions. This change in rolling direction may result in some marks or creases. With other delivery methods, the fabric is rolled in its usual direction and can be supplied in one continuous length of several metres.
What is the difference between the repair tape, patches, 20 cm and 50 cm formats, and the full-width fabric?
The 5 cm repair tape is suitable for small repairs and narrow areas. The 22.5 × 22.5 cm patches are ideal for localised repairs. The 20 × 142 cm format allows you to make a medium-sized repair or several smaller patches. The 50 × 142 cm format is suitable for larger repairs. Finally, the full-width fabric, sold by the linear metre, is ideal for large areas and allows you to order several metres in one continuous length. The width is 142 cm for Bainbridge colours and 144 cm for Neon Pink.
